Abstract

Digital transformation is radically redefining the way companies operate worldwide, and the insurance and corporate sectors in Ecuador stand at a critical crossroads to adapt to this new paradigm. This article examines in depth how these industries are adopting emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). It analyzes the specific challenges they face in implementation, including regulatory aspects, limitations in technological infrastructure, and the gap in specialized human talent. Additionally, it explores opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service personalization, and customer experience. Through both local and international success cases, best practices are highlighted, and concrete strategies are proposed for Ecuadorian companies to fully leverage the advantages of digital transformation. The study concludes that although significant obstacles exist, collaboration among the private sector, government, and educational institutions is essential to create a conducive ecosystem that drives innovation and the country's economic and social development.
