Analysis of Economic Evolution in Ecuador: A Focus on Sales, Net Profits and Business Growth in the commercial sector, from 2019 to 2022

The main objective of this research was to provide a comprehensive examination of the economic evolution of Ecuador, with a specific focus on sector G: “Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles” of the ISIC classification 4.0. By delving into key indicators such as sales revenue and net profits from the financial statements presented to the Superintendency of Companies, Securities and Insurance, between the period 2019 and 2022, which will allow an analysis of business growth, which seeks to offer valuable information on the dynamics of the country's commercial panorama. A data collection methodology from the official website www.supercias.gob.ec was used, which allowed a qualitative and quantitative approach for the analysis of the economic evolution of Ecuador. The results reveal the resilience of the G sector amid economic challenges, highlighting its fundamental role in total net profits. Extreme fluctuations in 2020 and 2021, followed by a significant recovery in 2022, underscore the adaptive capacity of the Ecuadorian business environment.
